Hi, it’s me. Hannah Baker. Kidding 😀
It’s me Dyastu Nia with its brand new blog. I’ve started ‘blogging’ since in junior high school actually, but yaa most of the contents, they seem like trashes for me hahaha. Then I decide maybe it will be wiser if I start a new blog with its more neatly arranged contents. That is the point anyway, so memories remain to stay in my old blog.
I will start with my short escapism trip to Bandung in the end of May 2018. It was so f*king funnnn. (language!) I will elaborate the reasons, but first you need to know the common knowledge about Bandung city, just in case you guys my lovely readers come from outside Indonesia country. So Bandung is the capital city of West Java province, Indonesia. It becomes the second largest metropolitan city in Indonesia, after Jakarta of course. Peek the information from the holy Google if it is necessary haha. I just want to tell you about my escapism, so check them out fellasss!
Its fresh air is healing.
Yas it is true. I arrived in Bandung railway station at 8.15 am. Using train as a travel transportation is a recommended choice for you who is a backpacker with a right budget, efficient and safe journey seeker hahaha. Surprisingly, the air was so fresh, I went in every destinations on foot so the fresh air was a significant aspect (feels so academic :D). Trees were planted along the road and that thing make your hike feels so shady, fresh, in peace, and aaaak so lovely. Benches were everywhere, after you feel tired of walking, then sit down on a bench, take a deep breath in Bandung. Uuuu syurgaaa.
A finalist of World Smart City Awards? Bandung deserves it.
It is the smartest city in Indonesia if I can say. Generally, I can take my point of view over a city whether or not it is a nice place, is by visiting its public place. I went on Bandung city park located in the center of the city, it is near from the railway station, and it took 15 minutes of walking. It is green, shady, lovely, and suitable for a family picnic, really.
You should go to the south and you will pass Braga street. It is a little bit similar with Malioboro street in Yogyakarta, but the difference is its parking management. Bandung uses non-cash parking zone especially in Braga street, so people should pay the parking fee with an electronic card. Interesting isn’t it? Yeah. Sadly, I forgot to take the picture of Braga street so here we go, I borrow the picture from pikiran-rakyat.com.
Then you will meet the Asian-African Conference museum. This museum has a limit collection, only some ducumentations, so ya it is not that interesting. But, you will get a chance to enter the room of the conference, I was so excited and I imagined I was there in the conference event. LOL. Aaa the interesting part is on its street. Check the pictures! Nice spot right?
My favorite part was in LEMBANG
Lembang is not located in Bandung city actually, it is in Bandung Barat regency, West Java province. This city is ABSOLUTELY ADORABLE. Because this city is in like a top of the hill (or mountain hmm) the air is freshly amazing. I believe that the people in Lembang do not have that such of air conditioner, it’s already cold around 18-22 celcius degrees. From Bandung city to Lembang it took about one hour and it only costed around 50 thousand rupiahs using an online taxi. But, if you want the cheaper one, you can use a local city transport aka angkot, and it only costs 15 thousand rupiahs. So affordable right? I visited two objects in Lembang which were Farmhouse Susu Lembang and Lembang Floating market.
Words which can describe Farmhouse Lembang are cute, adorable, happy, and gorgeous hahaha. There are too much cuteness in this place huhu. The price of admission is only 25 thousand rupiahs, and you’ll get a cup of Lembang milk. That is so worthy! R u curious about the taste? It was like the other common milk actually haha. But it still be my favorite drink forever after. You will see more like European vintage building in there with their fields full of flowers, the windmill and rented vintage clothes. If you wanna rent the clothes, it will cost a bit expensive, around 75 up to 125 thousand rupiahs per 2 hours. You can also feed some cute animals there such as sheeps, rabbits, hamsters, baby cows, and some reptiles in there. Farmhouse Lembang is amazing!!!
The next day I visited Lembang Floating Market which is not far from Farmhouse Susu Lembang and paid for 20 thousand rupiahs for its admission plus free coffee yay. You will be served with a beautiful view from the lake, the park arrangement, the food kiosks floating on the water. Those things amused me so baddd huhu. There are lots of big fish and swan. I can’t describe how big the fish are, but they are big, seriously, and they look delicious to eat. Yummy!
How about the lodging? It was not a big deal. I suggest you to choose a hotel or a guest house in Lembang. I know it is cold, but the price is more affordable if I compare with hotels in Bandung city, and you don’t need an air conditioner at all. Don’t forget to book the hotel by online service providers such as Trav*loka, Pe*i2, and others. It will be cheaper if you can smartly choose and luckily get some discounts. If you want a free lodging, then ask your friend who lives in Lembang to accommodate your sleep. Wkwk (welcome to wkwk land). `
The public transportation is not that fine.
It happened along way to Lembang actually. If you are lucky, you’ll be fine with the local city transportation. But, if you are not lucky enough, some drivers were so reckless, and I thought that they were drunk or something. That was disappointing for sure. One thing that made me feeling so weird was its DAMRI (Djawatan Angkoetan Motor Repoeblik Indonesia) bus. That big bus attracted the passengers not only from the terminal, but also attracted the passengers along the road, so it was similar with the local city transportation. Can you imagine, the bus and local city transportation compete each other to attract some passengers? Hilarious!
My short trip to Bandung was fun, I’ll make sure I’ll go back to Bandung hoho. So thanks for reading my story. Just wait for the next anthology 🙂
