KUSTOMFEST 2018 is coming to town on 6th-7th of October 2018 at Jogja Expo Center. This is a festival for people who love a custom culture and for a builder of custom world. This year is its 7th festival whose tagline is Color of Difference which is about the colors or various styles that are used in the custom world. Every custom style has its own distinctive features, and those make the custom world heterogeneous and fancy. Yes it’s fancy.

If you still confused about the idea of ‘custom’, let me give you a brief explanation. So according to Oxford Dictionary, the word ‘custom’ as a noun means a traditional and widely accepted way of behaving or doing something that is specific to a particular society, place, or time, and as an adjective, it is made or done to order; custom-made. There will be things which are custom made, and they can be many things such as custom motorcycles, cars, bicycles, and a custom plane, yes, the first custom plane made by Indonesian people.

This historical airplane, named WEL RI-X made by Indonesian Air Force specifically Plan and Construction Bureau will be shown at Kustomfest 2018. The plane was made for 5 months at Maospati Airbase in Madiun and flied to Maguwo (Adisutjipto Airport) to be shown on a flight exhibition in Yogyakarta which was ceremonially opened by Soekarno (The first president of Indonesia). For all this time, the plane is kept at The Central Museum of the Indonesian Air Force Dirgantara Mandala Yogyakarta. Because it is the first plane which was originally made and flown by the Indonesian Air Force, the plane is a pride for the Indonesian Air Force.

The idea to bring WEL RI-X to Kustomfest 2018 is to remind the young generation especially who pursue a custom world that they cannot be arrogant over what they did. They must have a passion to create something new and they cannot easily give up. This is a brilliant concept, and you guys can visit the festival on 6th and 7th of October 2018 at Jogja Expo Center.
