Hmmmm, it’s squeezing me out when I found that some people give negative comments for Disney’s current live action film, The Lion King. I mean it’s okay if you have different perspectives when you watch this, but somehow I’m annoyed when people say “It’s like watching documentaries in Nat Geo. So boring, etc”. Excuse me, The Lion King is a masterpiece :p
When you said that it’s like a documentary film from Nat Geo, it means that you admit the great quality of its cinematography. CGI (computer-generated imagery) was applied to create the animation looks as real as the real animal. It’s just a computer effect which produce beautiful, epic, smooth, and cute scenes. Compare with the other CGI films, you’re gonna admit that The Lion King is one of the most beautiful CGI films hahaha. CGI. It’s crazy, isn’t it?
Some people also said that the Lion King’s plot is so cliche. Yaa, at some point I agree with that part. The plot is not that complex and brilliant and it’s actually understandable because it is indeed designed for all ages. If you didn’t watch the original version, I assume that it’s gonna be different on how the way people watch the film. Then I remember the first time I watch this and realize that I was a cry baby since I was a kid. Erratum: I’m a cry baby. It’s a reminiscence. I’m glad that Disney didn’t change the plot, there’s no such of addition making this film similar with the original version. It’s still beautiful just way it is.
The most important part, the whole dialogues are life quotes. Quotes which inspire me especially to live in full of passion and gratitude. The first significant quote comes from Rafiki who’s a supporting character in the Lion King, but he’s the wisest character wkwk.
“Oh yes, the past can hurt. But from the way I see it, you can either run from it, or learn from it. ”
Yes, that’s so true. Let the past be the past, we need to move on, learn from the experience, and we can prevent a mistake that we did in the past.
“We are all connected in the great Circle of Life”
“Everything you see exists together in a delicate balance. As king, you need to understand that balance and respect all the creatures, from the crawling ant to the leaping antelope.” -Mufasa
Dear people, we live together. We’re equal among others. Let’s just live in a harmony without degrading others.
“I’m only brave when I have to be. Being brave doesn’t mean you go looking for trouble.” – Mufasa
How relevant! Being brave doesn’t mean that you cause the trouble in your environment. Just be brave to keep and to stand for the right things.
“As you go through life, you will see that there is so much that we don’t understand. And the only thing we know is things don’t always go the way we plan.” – Simba
YASSS! I COULDN’T AGREE MORE. Let the wind blow and let the water flow *nangis dalam hati
“Hakuna Matata”
It means no worries. Sometimes we need to chill and calm, face the trouble with a cool head. No worries don’t mean you are allowed not to do something. Don’t use the phrase as an excuse for being apathetic. Remember who you are.
I can’t mention all the quotes. You can watch the rest in the film. The Lion King is one of the most beautiful film I’ve ever seen. Keep up the good work Disney!!
