A Reconciliation Unites Jikustik

A word ‘reconciliation’ was mentioned several times by Pongki Barata the former vocalist of Jikustik in Jikustik Reunian or the Reunion of Jikustik, a music concert promoted by Rajawali Indonesia on March 29 2019 in Yogyakarta.  The idea of reconciliation was firstly offered by the CEO of Rajawali Indonesia, Anas Alimi as the concept of the concert. The concept brought Pongki and the other members Icha, Dadi, Adit, and Carlo to reunite in a reunion concert after Pongki and Icha left Jikustik in 2009 and 2011.

Reconciliation means the restoration of friendly relations. Things happened in the past whether they were good or bad, the point is that people need to make peace with their past to create a good value in the present. Jikustik may had problems and dramas among the members in the past, but there is a present that does matter to discuss. Pongki said that he wants to be a role model for their children by teaching them the value of making peace with the past. The reconciliation succeeded. The reunion concert successfully happened.

Jikustik Reunian proved that a great and intimate concert is created not only by the artist, the song, the art of the stage, but also the value that they want to deliver. Delivering values in a concert is beyond significant. Often some concerts only take the focus on the artists and the stages, they forget to deliver what is inside the concert. Values must be the core attention for the concert creators. Jikustik Reunian was a reconciliation in an entertaining way and somehow it inspires us, as the spectators of the concert. Our nostalgia has been cured. Thank you 🙂
