World War III became a trending topic weeks ago on Twitter and people were like “Oh my God”. Some people take that as a joke, but it may happen. It can be another World War or maybe another Gulf War because people are too greedy just to fulfill what they want. How many wars that happen in the middle east countries? There are too many wars with complex causes and massive loss from both sides involved in a war. Syrian Civil War, Iran-Iraq War, Gulf War, World War I, Israeli-Palestinian War, Lebanon War and
others are proofs that some people are too greedy and ambitious to claim others’ territories. The main reason is because some middle east countries are like the storage of natural resources in the form of oil and gas.
Do you remember that earth is dying? We, the population of human, are going to be extinct while the earth are losing its beauty. Australia is burning by a massive fire, terrible floods are everywhere, there is no rain even it is on a rainy season. It feels bad, isn’t it? Whereas they who are known as a superpower country citizens are too busy to intervene others’ business. I deliver this as a form of my apprehension towards what happen on earth. It feels bad and sad. I am not Greta Thunberg, an environmental activist who can give her straightforward campaign. She is amazing. But we can also do our part.
Currently, wars and climate changes are becoming highlights. Personally, a war is so yesterday topic. War only makes loss from both sides to protect what they call as a justice. I do not blame the side that is being a victim because they are trying to protect what they have that is going to be stolen by another side. That another side, why so ambitious? Instead of thinking about wars, people need to concern more on a climate change issue. It is the real threat to humanity. What is exactly humanity?
Basically humanity is being human. Merriam-Webster dictionary says that it is compassionate, sympathetic, or generous behavior or disposition : the quality or state of being humane. As long as we do good everywhere, in any occasion, there will be no war and climate change. I made a poll on Instagram about which one is more important, whether it is climate change or humanity. 79% chose ‘humanity’, and 21% chose ‘climate change’. The core result is actually my friends’ responses to the poll.
They said that if humans have humanity, nature will be safe. All about climate change is part of humanity. Climate Change also relates to humanity, and both of them are important. So they are true. I hope it is not too late, although it is already late. Let us embrace humanity for the sake of our home, earth, in whatever way.
